Features:
This expansion board adds two RS485 ports and two RS232 ports for Raspberry Pi 5, which can meet your various needs to use Raspberry Pi 5, such as using the Raspberry Pi 5 to make robot to control robotic arm, industrial automation control system, data acquisition and monitoring systems, automotive electronics, etc.
PCIE to 4-way USB2.0 design, one USB2.0 for 4-way RS485 RS232 serial port expansion, the other three USB2.0 leads out through 1.25mm 4Pin connector, which can extend the CM4 4G Mini module.
Through the USB2.0 high-speed interface to transfer out four serial ports, adopt the design of two RS232 and two RS485 (with power isolation). The two RS232 can be converted to TTL/CMOS level UART and lead out via 2.54mm 3Pin pins. The 3Pin pins need to be soldered by yourself.
The baud rate of RS232 can be more than 230Kbps (U0 and U3 can be up to 1.2Mbps if carrying out actual measurement); The baud rate of RS485 can be up to 500Kbps (U1 and U2 can be up to 1.5Mbps if carrying out actual measurement).
RS232 is suitable for short-distance communication; while RS485 is suitable for long-distance, multi-point communication, supporting multiple devices to communicate over the network. RS485 is a wired transmission protocol, which is widely used in various communication systems due to its feature of long-distance, high-speed and multi-branch structure.
A total of four indicators, one is the power indicator (take power and work through the Raspberry Pi 5's PCIE interface), one is the ACT indicator of USB to serial chip, the other two are transmit/receive indicator.
The size of the board is 56x85mm, with four fixing holes, same as Raspberry Pi 5.
Reserve fixing holes for 4G modules, and can stack 1-3 way of 4G modules.
Drive-free design, recognised as ttyACM* by default under Raspberry Pi and Ubuntu systems; ttyACM0 and ttyACM3 is RS232, ttyACM1 and ttyACM2 is RS485.
Matching housings are available.
